Week -2: Some things coming together

“Starting to get excited”

This week I started to make my plans and therefor the entire project more cohesive. I made a planning in which I divided the project into sections. The main parts are: prototype, demo, alpha version, beta versions. In my infinite wisdom I also expanded the duration of the project from 6 to 12 months. At this point in time it feels manageable to create a demo within the first 6 months of 2024. Where I will be able to take the project from there, is something to figure out at a later time.

The remainder of the week was spend refreshing my Unity skills with the Udemy course. Maybe more importantly, I started to formulate my ideas in a Game Design Document. I have a broad vision for the project, but it’s good to start putting some specifics on paper as fast as possible. Already, this has brought more focus to the endeavour and given me a better sense of scope. Although I’m not sure what the main gameplay mechanics will be just yet. I’m getting closer though.

P.S. Made some initial sketches for my main character as well.
